Trapped

Like a butterfly under a

Glass globe

I try to fly, I try to elope

I can’t escape, I’m trapped

So I do what I always do,

I adapt.

I’m meant to fly, to be wild

And free

Here, I’m not me, I can’t be who I should be

I can’t escape, I’m trapped

So I do what I always do,

I adapt.

I know this is not how it will end

I have a Savior, He is my best Friend

I can’t escape, I’m trapped,

But He is with me, I’m wrapped

I look in His eyes,

I hear His tender voice,

I start to calm, and make a choice

I can’t change my place right now

So, I wait here with Him for now

He is not leaving my side,

We wait

Until the time is right to open the gate,

I look back at my cage and find,

I was trapped but redefined.
